I’m Lydia Sommerfeld, a recent graduate of Western Carolina University, where I earned a degree in Communications with a minor in Philosophy. My education equipped me with critical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to connect meaningfully with others—all of which have shaped my personal and professional journey.

I grew up in Jacksonville, NC, a small military town that taught me the importance of resilience, community, and service. Softball was a central part of my life—I not only played but also coached, gaining valuable lessons in teamwork, leadership, and mentorship. These skills carried over into my work as a lead volunteer for the Fishstrong Foundation, where I organized events like holiday hayrides and created SFX makeup for community fundraisers. These experiences ignited my passion for helping others and sparked my creative drive.

Today, I bring that same passion and creativity to my role as Operations Coordinator at LYFE Marketing. In this position, I focus on Human Resources and employee engagement, blending my skills in communication and copywriting to foster a workplace culture where people feel valued and inspired. For me, HR is about more than operations—it’s about building meaningful connections and empowering individuals to thrive.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, painting, sewing, reading, cooking, and spending time with my four cats and dog. These hobbies reflect my love for creativity and exploration, which fuels both my personal and professional growth.
